Joseph W. Nienstedt, a volunteer with Charleston’s Help-Portrait December event, shares some stories from the day.
Last year, my wife & I started this team at the MUSC Children’s Hospital because one of our daughter’s classmates, Jesse Dasinger, was being treated there for leukemia. Unfortunately he was too sick to participate in last year’s event. This year he’s doing amazingly well and was able to stop by to get his picture taken!
I asked a girl how she was feeling today, and she said, “I feel amazing”. She then did a jump photo!
Every once in a while you make a photo that reminds you of why you love photography. Help-Portrait is an event where every time you press the shutter you make that picture.
