Well hello everybody!
It’s been too long since we’ve stopped by and said hello at the Help-Portrait blog, so I thought I would chime in and give you an update on what’s happening.
As some of you have heard, we’ve been planning to launch the 2010 campaign for awhile. The main reason why you haven’t heard or seen a big push just yet is because we are wrapping up a brand new website that’s going to combine our main site with our community section. As you can imagine, this requires quite a bit of design and technical integrations so that your experience is as seamless as possible. So, keep checking back as we hope to launch the new site in a couple of weeks.
We are also working on solidifying a partnership with a US-based imaging company to underwrite some of the printing costs with this years events. We expect that partnership to finalize in the next week or two and be ready for an official announcement soon.
This year, Help-Portrait evolved from being an idea, to an actual non-profit. With that change comes some new procedures that we’ll be putting in place to button up some loose ends that we experienced during the 2009 campaign. Don’t worry, it won’t be complicated. We simply need to make sure that the government is pleased with how we are operating. More on that later. Definitely.
Finally, many of you are new to Help-Portrait. Welcome! We can’t wait for you to join us in an experience that will last a lifetime. Seriously, last year’s Nashville Help-Portrait day was one of the most memorable days of my life. No doubt, you will experience the same this year. If you’re looking for a place to jump in, head over to our Community site and sign up.
Help-Portrait is nothing without you, the community. Please invite your fellow photographers to join us.
