Notes

“Most of the time, when people see them walking on the road, they turn around and go the other direction. So to give them the opportunity to look them in the face and show them how beautiful they are, means a lot.”

—Lee Ann Dichtel
Special Events Coordinator for the Nashville Rescue Mission

Like the butterflies, I felt beautiful.

Thank you very much for the photos. You took your time, heart and effort to give to us. At 41 years of age, I’ve never had my makeup and hair done nor photos like what you did for me. It was a true heart that you gave to me and for the first time and day of my life, I felt special. This one day I felt important. It was an amazing gift that I didn’t earn, work for, nor deserve but through your heart, by giving me those photos, you made me feel special and important. It was a day I will never forget and will always smile about. It’s given me the inspiration to want to serve others. I will always remember and feel the warmness in my heart for what you all did for me.

God Bless You

The picture day was exciting and fun! It meant a lot to me and my kids. We have NEVER had a family portrait made. My 6-year old daughter has had her picture taken but my 2-year old son has never had his taken. I’ve never been able to afford them. I haven’t had my own pictures done in over 7 years. I’m grateful and really appreciate it. It was very special to us. I also thank you for taking the time out of your busy lives to come and spend time with us. You tried to make a special day for us and you succeeded. I think everyone had a great and special day. And everyone was grateful for that. Thank you so much.

Thank you,

I am very grateful and appreciative of those who took their time to take our portraits and lift our spirits. It was a very fun experience for me and now I’ll have photos of the girls who stood beside me as my sisters in Christ through this difficult, yet gracious and renewing time in my life. When people do random acts of kindness, such as the photoshoot, it shows God does work through people and that the common goodness in people is still alive.

I really enjoyed our Help-Portrait Event and really loved being able to get dressed up and feel good about myself. It was so awesome to see people who were giving back to people who can’t afford much right now. Thank you so much.

Help-Portrait was very important to me. It was so fun. Just seeing everybody take pictures. Especially Shareze and Kim, oh my gosh they were so stylish! Also I had the best time with my friend Alexis. She’s always got the right look for special events. I took some pictures with her and they were too cute. It was also nice to see the little kids and their moms take photos together. I am very grateful for the people who decided to take free pictures for us. They didn’t have to do that. Truthfully they could have looked down on us for having been addicted.

I had a very good time with lots of laughs and smiles. It was so great watching everyone in front of the camera having so much fun. I will never have another chance like this. Thank you so much.
